About Us

Our Journey

How did it all start ?

It all started with two young players from Iceland attending Clemson University on a soccer scholarship in 2011.

In 2015 we really found the need to help other Icelandic players to experience the same and we founded our recruiting agency Soccer & Education USA. To this day we have helped over 300 Icelandic players go to the U.S on an athletic scholarship.

The idea of Iceland Soccer Travel came to mind shortly after founding Soccer & Education USA. After our showcases in 2016 & 2017 we got amazing feedback from the coaches who were truly fascinated by our beautiful country and unique soccer culture. We started getting numerous questions and inquiries about hosting teams during the summer season.

In 2018 we finally took action on this idea and submitted an application to the “Startup Tourism Accelerator” in Iceland. We were amongst 10 that were picked out of 130 applications. It was a great learning process for us and helped us form a unique product for our customers.

In 2019 we welcomed our first team – a group of 60 from Vermont, USA. We had a blast, they enjoyed every minute and we got some amazing feedback that convinced us even more that we are offering something special. You can watch the highlights from their trip here

Our highly ambitious plans in 2020 were suddenly shut down because of Covid so we’ve been “patiently” waiting to be able to offer our trips again.

We truly believe we are offering a new and extremely unique experience to our customers that will create memories that lasts for a lifetime. Iceland is known for its unique sights and being one of the safest countries in the world. Our goal is also to educate you about Icelandic Soccer culture and how we became the smallest nation in the world to qualify for a World Cup.
